Shin-Etsu provides synthetic pheromones for orchard crops. These products are mostly used in mating disruption. It operates through six main business segments namely PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) business, silicones, semiconductor silicon, electronics and functional materials, specialty chemicals, and processing, trading & specialized services business. The company provides synthetic pheromones through its specialty chemicals segment. Shin-Etsu supplies few of its pheromone formulations to pheromone distributors such as Pacific Biocontrol Corporation and Biocont Laboratory.
