TightVNC remote desktop software is a free remote control software package. TightVNC remote desktop software is useful in administration, tech support, education, and for many other purposes. Cross-platform, available for Windows and Unix, inclusive of Java client. Compatible with standard VNC software, conforming to RFB protocol specifications.
TightVNC pricing is based upon two licensing options. They are as follows:
TightVNC provides a General Public License, meaning it is free for both personal use and commercial use. TightVNC also provides email support to its users that require the same.
Wide range of applications- Allows for remote troubleshooting, tech support, and training. TightVNC allows one member of a team to control a PC remotely to fix an issue that the local user is having trouble with. Used for Windows and Unix too.
Security- Ensures connections are "possible" at any moment when the VNC module installed on the client is running as a service. Allows administration machine and the administered machine to use unencrypted transmission of data.
Compatibility and Interoperability- TightVNC is fully compatible with the standard RFB protocol used in VNC, users can use TightVNC viewer with the standard VNC server and vice versa. The enhanced protocol implemented in TightVNC will work only if these enhancements are supported on both sides of the connection.
Support for video mirror driver- Use DFMirage mirror drivers to detect screen updates and grab pixel data in a very efficient way, saving the processor cycles for other applications. Access the Java viewer applet via a built-in HTTP server like in the standard VNC.
