Review 1 I am an Engineering Manager working in an industrial firm and recently I got a chance to try out the MeRLIN procurement software by RheinBrucke IT Consulting. Overall my experience using this software has not been great. The interface is dated and not very user-friendly, making it difficult to learn how to use the software efficiently. I found that most of the features offered by this software were quite basic, and I found myself needing to look for alternatives that were more powerful. Furthermore, when using the software I encountered several issues such as the software crashing or not running properly, leaving me frustrated and wasting my time. To top it off, I found the customer service to be unhelpful and not interested in solving my problems. As far as value for money goes, I found it to be too expensive for what it was offering, and in my opinion, there are definitely much better, more affordable options available on the market. Customer service, for instance, was definitely lacking. Filing a helpdesk ticket often felt like a chore, and when outages occurred, it felt like there was a general lack of urgency. The UI could also be improved upon -- especially for those with less technical skills. Navigating the menus was a challenge and I found that I often spent more time completing tasks than I originally anticipated. Despite these qualms, I do think the software offers quite a bit of value for money and I managed to complete certain tasks in a shorter amount of time than expected. Id recommend it with certain caveats. I rate the software 2.5/5.

With MeRLIn, you can also get an in-depth overview of the entire procurement process, from supply chain management to delivery statuses. I am particularly impressed with Automated Detailed Cost Analysis and Report Generator, which are tools for managing cost savings from purchases. The website wizard takes users through a step-by-step set up process, making sure the initial setup is seamless. I was pleasantly surprised that the user set up was much easier compared to the complicated procedures of other procurement solutions. In summary, MeRLIN is an excellent procurement tool. It is not always clear which features are included in their offering and I have seen some users encounter several bugs. Furthermore, its use of next-generation technology is a bit outdated. For instance, we have found that creating POs can be cumbersome for users and takes several steps. As for a product feature, RheinBrucke does allow for several ways to view data. This can be helpful for management levels. However, I have witnessed many instances where visibility of this data is not as clear as it could be and it can sometimes be difficult to locate necessary information. First and foremost, the customer service. None of the helpdesk ticket responses I received were timely and often I was left waiting for resolution. I felt this was very disappointing. The UI could also use some improvement for users who may not have the best technical skillset. Menus and navigation felt slightly clunky, and I had a few occasions where completing a task took longer than expected. Despite these issues, I found that the software provided great value for money and some of the features were quite helpful, enabling me to complete certain tasks in a shorter amount of time. I was disappointed in MeRLIN, the procurement software from RheinBrucke IT. It failed to deliver on the promised features and benefits, which led to a lot of wasted time and resources. During the implementation process, we encountered several problems that could have been avoided had the product been better designed. First, MeRLIN was too restrictive. We had to upgrade to certain versions of software and hardware in order to use the software, which cost us a significant amount of money and time. This limitation was quite disheartening and made it difficult to use other applications and tools available on the market. Second, the system was not customisable enough. Overall I had a poor experience with MeRLIN, RheinBrucke ITs procurement software. It limited my teams ability to take advantage of newer technologies and use cases. We ran into several problems during implementation and execution. First, MeRLIN was not compatible with a lot of the technological advancements we wanted to use. It was only compatible with certain versions of software and hardware, which restricted our ability to innovate and leverage more efficient processes. This also led to more time and costs incurred to purchase and upgrade equipment in order to use the software. Second, and most problematic, was the lack of flexibility. MeRLIN was not able to handle our unique needs and processes, which makes it difficult to administer. I spent a lot of time and resources trying to adjust and customize the system in order to make it work for us. I was continuously frustrated by the systems lack of scalability and agility. For these reasons, I would not recommend MeRLIN to other businesses. It simply doesnt provide enough features and benefits to justify the cost or investment.
