It would be good if the educational version could be extended to students and teachers and be able to perform data mining in a work team, such as in a course, or in a postgraduate or doctorate subject, with better storage options in the cloud.

Granted, companies are looking for vertical solutions aiming directly at their specific applications while RapidMiner, albeit powerful, is a platform. In addition to current communication by RapidMiner and the enthusiastic community, efforts must be spent by both sides, the customers and the solution providers like us, to practice, solve problems, and build up confidence so that gaps can be bridged.

The predictive analytics platform offered by RapidMiner, Inc. helps users perform advanced data analytics with minimal requirement for coding. The platform is easy to use and it has an intuitive interface. However, it can be challenging to obtain details to use plugin parameters. Customization of graphs and configuration of axes and labelling formats are not feasible. Plotting and visualization is still simple.

The RapidMiner platform is exceptionally fast and easy to use. It overcomes obstacles such as error-prone data preparation and deployment to ensure that no projects fail. However, RapidMiner is a platform, while most companies would probably opt for direct solutions to implement.
RapidMiner seems like a powerful platform but would probably lose out when compared to a vertical solution that is aimed to work directly with a specific application.
