SpeedCast has adopted different strategies to strengthen its position in the network connectivity and satellite communication market by serving its clients with customized communication solution and professional solutions. The transformational year for SpeedCast was 2016, as it established a firm foothold in the energy sector globally, to become one of the industry leaders in the communications market. For instance, INEOS, chemical and oil products manufacturer, signed a 3 year contract with SpeedCast to provide a fully managed VSAT service for INEOS platforms in the Clipper South and Breagh gas fields in the North Sea, UK offering voice services and internet access. Recently, in January 2017, SpeedCast acquired Harris CapRock to deliver combined communications product portfolio, which has new and innovative solutions and drive more customer value. In August 2016, SpeedCast acquired another company: WINS Limited, which is a Europe-based communication service provider for the maritime sector. With the acquisition of WINS Limited, SpeedCast enhanced its product and solution portfolio in the maritime communication field. Apart from acquisitions, the company also focused upon expanding its geographical presence to support the growing customer base. For instance, in March 2017, SpeedCast opened a new office in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG). Similarly, the company has entered into partnerships, agreements, and joint ventures to broaden its business operation in regions such as Europe, Africa, and Asia.
