Middle East Cloud Infrastructure Services
With more than 12 years of experience in the cloud infrastructure services market, Amazon Web Services
already has an established global customer list offering to compute, storage, database, and other services
to developers and enterprises of all sizes. The company is trying to establish itself and accelerate the rapid
adoption of cloud computing in the Middle Eastern region. It has already made announcements to open
offices in Dubai and Bahrain in 2017. With a strong presence in North America, Europe, and APAC, Amazon Web Services is constantly following an aggressive growth strategy to expand its base in the Middle
Eastern region as well. Recently, the company made an announcement to open data centers in the Middle
East by early 2019. Amazon Web Services also announced the launch of an Amazon Web Services Edge
Network Location in the UAE in 2018. This would bring Amazon CloudFront, Amazon Route 53, Amazon
Web Services Shield, and Amazon Web Services WAF to the Middle Eastern region. The company’s
clientele includes Netflix, a popular Internet television network which now operates completely on Amazon
Web Services cloud infrastructure. Its other customers include Pinterest, Airbnb, GE, Enel, Capital One,
Intuit, Johnson & Johnson, Philips, Hess, Adobe, McDonald’s, and Time Inc. The company plans to
strengthen its foothold by adopting various inorganic business strategies. Recently, the company partnered
with VMware to develop enhanced solutions and provide a Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC)
experience, using a hybrid deployment model. Such strategies have helped create an impact on customers
and have strengthened its market position in other regions in the Middle East. The company’s partner
ecosystem comprises various VARs, SIs, and managed service providers. Amazon Web Services managed
service partners include Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, and Cognizant.
