For instance, in August 2015, the company came up with a new cloud-based solution to serve industrial data and analytics customers. The solution, named as Predix cloud, a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) designed to analyze the machine data generated in a secure industrial environment. This has bolstered the company’s position as one of the industry’s chief players in industrial analytics. Further, as a part of the inorganic strategy, GE has made various partnerships, collaborations, and acquisitions. For instance, in November 2016, it partnered with SAP SE to integrate the SAP HANA Cloud platform and GE’s Predix operating system. In addition, both the companies are collaborating on joint customers of oil and gas industry.
