Altiostar is able to achieve this feat using Ethernet fronthaul, with the help of any available transport. With regards to the C-RAN market, Altiostar’s vRAN solution connects virtualized compute nodes with the intelligent distant radio heads over any transport. When the RAN functions are being virtualized, it is imperative that a carrier-grade platform provides features such as high availability, ultra-low latency, massive scalability, and ease of maintenance. Altiostar uses a carrier-grade NFV platform, which is an open source and equipped with carrier-grade requirements, along with the needed implementation software modules of eNodeB in VNFs called vBBU. The other features of Altiostar’s C-RAN solutions include application intelligence, which is used to amplify end-users’ QoE and enhance the capacity of RAN, along with its capacity and performance gain with LTE-A for preparing the carriers for 5G.
